51st Anniversary T&D Championships - 2011

 CENTENNIAL PARK

   June 4th and 5th - 2011

Saturday turned out to be a washout - Literally. It started raining around
9:00 a.m. and gradually got worse till there was no point in starting.
We re-grouped and came back Sunday, to try to do as much as is possible.
Junes have been bad to us the last couple of  years.

There are no scheduled make up dates for the Racing or F2D as it is very
hard to accommodate new dates. There are a LOT of contests going on in
June / July and peoples calendars are already full  for the summer by this time.

Here are the results compliments of John McFayden.

Celebrity judges were in attendance. I would not want to
be the one punished by these most critical gents.

2011 Beavers Cup points

 Pilot

 Event  Score

 Points
Total

Overall placing

Daniel Birks 129.50 6 1
Chris Brownhill 99.40 5 2
Mike McMahon 108.75 4 3
Paul Smith 98.80 2 4
Keith Morgan 97.40 1 5

Beavers cup points: Anyone that wins the Beavers cup at the end of the
year with 2 scores above 125 will not be eligible to compete for it
ever again. Such as John McFayden, Dave Kelly.
In this case Daniel who may have won the cup last year, did so with only
1 score over 125 in the whole year in the Profile Stunt event.
At this point he has one score over 125, if he gets one more over
that number and wins the year, he will not be eligible thereafter.

 BAR-B-Q  TOURNAMENT

Champion: Dave Relf

Dave Relf excelled again at the BBQ tournament, single handedly
(OK double handedly), feeding all the starving flyers to complete
satisfaction again this year.

Yes this is a file photo from last year but all the thoughts still apply.
Thanks for the extra dog, Big Dave, just don't let anyone find out... OK?

 PROFILE SCALE

Champion: Chris Brownhill

What a surprised, Chris wins again with his venerable cum ubiquitous Hampden MKII

P Smith Bearcat 147 4 th

Judges - J Easton, L Bourel

Mike McMahon' stunning Mosquito came within 3 points of Mr B.
If you can muster a large sweeping loop next time you may just be
able to hobble him Mike!

 SPORT SCALE

Champion: Jack Humphries

Mike McMahon had to rescue Jack when he experienced a transmitter buggaboo
that left his throttle stuck on full bore.  I figured by now there would be some more
TIDY method to control the throttle, than having a full size 6 channel transmitter
strapped to your leg!   Happily the throttle issues were fixed and Jack's
great flyer landed safely.

Stand - Off Scale
