The Bean Field Grand Prix 2011

 June 25 & 26, 2011

Good weather for the most this weekend. Saturday was kind of
cold in the morning with overcast conditions that threatened rain, but
never materialized. Sunday was warm in the morning and
getting hotter throughout the day.  The contest was
quite light on entries this time with quite a few of the
hard core otherwise engaged. Hopefully they will
be with us for the August SOCC bash.

Many thanks to Brad LaPointe, for putting on this great
contest and keeping us all fed.  Also thanks Brad for
lending me your LA 46 piped Tutor profile.  It is finally just
about trimmed (at least for my needs!)  S.

 SPEED LIMIT COMBAT

Champion: Dan Birks

Happy Dan Birks is using his youth, dexterity and skill to beat on
all us old guys. No fair  :(

 Position

Dan Birks 1st
Alex Topunov 2nd
Brad LaPointe 3rd
Vadim Poliak
Dimitre Valkanov

Alex Topunov back at the Bean Field.

 F2D COMBAT

Champion: Dimitre Valkanov

Dimitre showed his world champs form this weekend by kicking butt in F2D.
Next year the Worlds are in Bulgaria. Dimo would be a good guy to latch
onto as a tour guide as he was born in Bulgaria and would know his way around.

 Pilot

 Position

Dimitre Valkanov 1st
Lou Scavone 2nd
Yaroslav Melnikov 3rd
Alex Tuponov
Brad LaPointe
Vadim Poliak

Dave Lovgren made a rare appearance at the Beaner. He helped judge
80 MPH and F2D combat on Sunday. Good to see you again!

Stevo scared everyone (not to mention himself) at this Beaner - Nuff said!

He still did great placing 2nd under tough circumstances.

 PROFILE STUNT

Champion: John McFayden

John wins yet again at this 2011 Bean Field grand prix. Just wait
wise guy, I am buying a hint board...

PROFILE STUNT
PILOT FLT #1 FLT #2

John McFayden 140.75 140.625 1st
Dan Birks 133.60 136.875 2nd BC 5
Stu Henderson 126.75 132.875 3rd BC 4
Keith Morgan 121.50 128.875       BC 3
Paul Smith 109.15 121.25       BC 2
Ron Peters 117.50 114.25       BC 1

Judges - Len Bourel, Dave Relf
Tabulator - Naomi Macklem

Keith is seen here with his new, subliminal HINT board he created.
It is there to give stunt judges subconscious clues as to what
the right score may be for a performed maneuver. To use it
you do the maneuver and then quickly raise the board up and twirl it.
Please make me one that say 8.7, it may be less suspicious...

Naomi's brand spanking new Twister is ready for action.
